Daily Craig: It's just the first week

HOUSTON – I love fans. I love "football experts". After one whole week of the NF-HELL I keep hearing the following. "The Texans sure looked good".  "The Texans were lucky since they played the Bears".  "Did you see how the Cowboys got slaughtered?"  Yes, if you consider a 1 point loss a slaughter. Of cours, Houston beat the Bears, because that was the team they were playing. No team chooses an opening game opponent. They get what the schedule calls for.  The fans are in mid season form and we are only 15 weeks from all of this meaning something. I noticed the Pats slaughtered the Cardinals too. Tom Brady watched it on TV like the rest of us. The comparison between he and I stops there.

I also liked the idea that despite a top draft pick, the Rams didn't even suit up that guy and went with Case Keenum. Case is the kid from Wylie,Tx. who went from being a Bulldog to a Cougar to a Ram. The Texans thing didn't work because it's not a animal . I once asked Case why his HIGH SCHOOL wasn't nicknamed the Coyotes. He wasn't sure. The school missed an obvious reference to a most popular cartoon character.

Now we await the Chiefs. Let's make sure Joe Montana doesn't  show up for moral support. Even worse, let's make sure Brian Hoyer doesn't show up. Oh yea, he's with those terrible 0-1 Bears.
