I am assuming, and that is never a good thing, that Jeff Bagwell will finally get into the HALL OF FAME.
I know there is a perception that he had something to do with PED'S but was never convicted in the courts, just in certain media circles. I saw him play more than most and marveled at his power and the way he conducted himself around first base. I like that he and Craig both played their entire careers in Houston. I happened to be in Kissimmee the day they walked him from 3rd base to 1st base to change positions and eventually position himself for this day. I am posting this prior to any announcement but I feel good about it.
Some guy asked me this week about some bit we did on SPORTS SUNDAY years ago. It was "Alvin at Night". Ch. 13 had hired former KPRC Radio talk guy, Alvin Van Black to do a feature on their 10pm newscasts. He put on a tux, smiled more than I ever thought he could, and made the party rounds in our city. You know those parties where Carolyn Farb and Lynn Wyatt starred. I thought it would be good to make fun of that so we started our own "ALVIN AT NIGHT". It consisted of various static shots of THE CITY OF Alvin at night. One time we held it for 1 full minute on a gas pump. The bugs seemed to enjoy it.
I was asked by our local newspaper if any one at Ch. 13 had complained. I SAID "NO" BUT boy will be have fun if they do. i am pretty sure Jeff Bagwell thought it was funny.
