In the 1994 season when the Rockets were the talk of the town, the fellas were one win away from eliminating the Blazers in a playoff series. The put away game was in Portland and as we entered the old ROSE GARDEN, one of the writers from Portland got in the press chow line. He piled his plate high, sat with some of us, looked at one of his buddies, and calmly said.."Welcome to the last supper". There was some doubt about that but he ended up being correct. The Rockets got it done and there would be no more Blazers or press meals in their gym that season.
I certainly hope one of the traveling dudes who have suffered through this horrid season with Houston will make the same call Wednesday night. In fact, the Rockets should get frozen meals with no microwave. Let them chew on that. A national audience saw how pathetic the 2nd half was yesterday. That same audience must have said..."of course, they stink. They were 41-41 in the regular season. Their one win in this series shouldn't have been a win".
