Daily Craig: The coaching pool isn't deep

Those head coaches who might leave their current jobs for Houston are sort of limited. I say "sort of" because most of the names thrown around so far already have jobs. I would like to see a guy who doesn't have a job get back in coaching.

For years ESPN and Fox have hired former coaches who tell us what the guys who HAVE COACHING JOBS are doing right or wrong, mostly wrong. It's weird. Sometimes broadcasting works the same way. Mack Brown said the Tom Herman hire at Texas was good. Wow. You had to turn to ESPN to figure that out?

I have a possible for Tilman Fertitta. Larry Fedora at North Carolina. He used to be at Southern Miss. If fact, his team's slaughter of UH a few years ago was the last game Kevin Sumlin coached at UH. He parlayed a loss to end a great season into the Aggies job. Now Tom takes the Horns job having done the same thing. Plus if Larry wins big you can tip his last name. You can't "tip the old Orlando or the old Applewhite or the old Holgerson.

i also want to point out TEXAS did something to distance their higher ups from the Charlie hire and fire. They FIRED STEVE PATTERSON AGAIN. Not many have reported that. Hook em.
