Daily Craig: She did what?

HOUSTON – I am not alone when I blurt out..." DID YOU SEE THAT?"  Or,  "SHE DID THAT ON A BALANCE BEAM?" Or, "How did she jump 9 feet straight up and land on her feet without breaking both ankles?" I have said all of that and more as I WATCHED the U.S. women gymnasts. Simone Biles and her teammates have dazzled and wiped out what little competition they have had in Rio. The various elements all have names and those names were given to moves invented by the gymnasts who have gone before or perhaps during their careers. There is a move called the BILES. Only the young lady from Spring,Tx. can do it and I can't explain it.

I think we should all name various moves for people who can do certain things. THE ALTUVE is a base hit where there appeared no chance to be one. THE O'Brien is a well placed F BOMB on TV. I liked to call the MAX a move named for my uncle who could drain a 6er of PBR with no problem. He did that for breakfast. The PUNT is a move named after a frat bro who always left the bar when it was his turn to buy. THE KEITH was perfected by a former co worker who always had to take a phone call outside when the tab arrived.

THE RUDY is for never underestimating the heart of a champion. We sure need more RUDY'S AROUND HERE.
