Daily Craig: Ready, Set, on 2

HOUSTON – It may not be a big deal to most TEXANS FANS, but Houston lost a perfect fit. Free Agent season is here. THE NF-HELL has many seasons and free agency is a popular one only surpassed by THE DRAFT SEASON.  As the locals get ready to most likely lose out on the quarterback and running back they want they are also in the market for a guy who gets the whole rolling on offense.

They need a center. BEN JONES has done the unthinkable. He is leaving for the same job with the dreaded and dreadful TITANS OF NASHVILLE. Jones was the TEXANS starter at Guard two years ago and started every game last season at center. Maybe if he had never ever snapped the ball to Brian Hoyer we wouldn't have complained so much. Jones is a character. Gary Kubiak was the first to point out to me Jones, on game days, walks the length of the field bare foot. Even on the artificial surfaces. "He wants to get the feel of things" KUBES SAID.

Jones started every game for 4 years at Georgia. He is also a customer of my son-in-law's car repair shop in Athens,Ga. I pointed out to Ben I had family in the home of the red and black and he never forgot. He always called me "5 Star Guy". That 5 star reference is the name of repair shop. I gotta figure the reason Ben left is Tennessee is closer to Georgia, but I still don't like it, and I am not sure Ben was a geography major either. Ben is funny and most of the rest of the guys aren't. Plus ,which guy will get Jones' TV hamburger commercial now that he's gone?  He'll really be hard to replace on that one.
