Daily Craig: Here come the Americans

HOUSTON – Soccer may not be your game but the NRG family is sure glad the USA is coming to their place. It isn't a big deal to beat Ecuador in many respects, but in soccer it is.

The Americans beat Ecuador 2-1 in the Copa and now are in the semi finals. The fans in Seattle last night were great and Houston is going to be great too. The others in the short pants will either be Argentina OR Venezuela. I know you are rooting for the Messi to come to town. Can you imagine the ticket scalping? I can hear every one complaining about the condition of the field. Let's hope that isn't an issue. I can tell you one thing, Messi won't be coming off the bench. I also don't want to hear how you hate soccer.

The NBA has played 6 games in the Finals and it's tied. Could Golden State lose the 7th at home? Most likely not. Stephen Curry will celebrate Dad's day coming off his first ever 6-foul game. The Finals have all been blowouts which is disappointing. Speaking of Father's Day, a shout out to all you dads. I am one also. I do want to tell a quick grandson story to kick off the big weekend.

I was visiting my daughter's family in Georgia and part of my duty was to tuck the kiddos in and say prayers. I did so with my granddaughter and then it was her brother's turn. I saw a little stuffed animal in his bed so I picked it up. In my best impression of various dog barks while waving the toy in his face, you know "woof, woof, bark, bark." My impressions were exhausted when Shep looked at me and said, "Pa, that's a cat."
