The Pride of Pearland - Little League Baseball is heading to the World Series early Saturday morning.
"I told them they are going to be like little rock stars, they're kind of feeling their way along," said manager Don Smith.
"It's a dream, I can't even believe it. I can't believe it's tomorrow though, it's so soon compared to that we just got back like yesterday," said catcher Hunter Dopslauf.
"It feels unreal, we've been working for it and looking forward to it our entire lives and we're finally doing it," said player Joshua Gabino.
The team held a fundraiser Saturday to help family with travel costs. Donations included two large checks from title sponsors.
"Being a former coach and having a kid in the league, I don't think it's any coincidence that the kids are going back to Williamsport. It takes a great community, a great little league, great coaches, players and parents and that's what we have here in Pearland," said H-E-B representative Jim Doxakis.
"We're pretty speechless to have two big title sponsors come out like that and support the families and for me and all of our players families, it takes a huge load off their minds," said Smith.
