HOUSTON – The Houston Astros hit the All-Star break with a 60-29 record and a 16.5-game lead in the American League West Division over the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels. They own the best record in the American League by 10 games.
It has been a record-setting first 89 games of the season. Six Astros made the All-Star team, the most in a single season in franchise history.

The Astros offense leads the major leagues in runs (527), hits (898), doubles (197), homers (148), batting average (.289), on-base percentage (.355), slugging percentage (.500) and OPS (.855).
The Astros pitching staff leads the majors in strikeouts (902) and leads the AL in opponent batting average against (.234). Overall, Houston ranks third in the AL in ERA (3.93), while the Astros starters lead all AL teams in ERA (3.82).

The staff also set a Major League Baseball record by recording 902 strikeouts prior to the All-Star break. The previous record was held by the 2013 Tigers (863).
The team also set franchise records in batting average (.289), slugging percentage (.500), OPS (.855), runs (527), hits (898), doubles (197) and home runs (148) before the All-Star break.
Houston is 33-11 in their 44 road games this season for a winning percentage of .750. The MLB record for winning percentage on the road is .730 (54-20, 1939 Yankees).
