Astros place pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. on disabled list

HOUSTON – The Houston Astros' disabled list, which is already packed with ailing starting pitcher, added another name Monday as the team placed Lance McCullers Jr. on the 10-day disabled list with back discomfort.

McCullers last pitched on June 9, tossing seven innings while allowing just two hits and one earned run. He’s 6-1, with a 2.58 ERA.

He joins fellow starters Dallas Keuchel, Charlie Morton and Collin McHugh on the disabled list. McCullers was scheduled to start Tuesday’s game against the Rangers at Minute Maid Park.

Starter Joe Musgrove will come off the disabled list to make the start for the team on Monday night.
