HOUSTON – After the Astros 13-3 win over the Angels Sunday, manager A.J. Hinch announced the Astros were purchasing the contract of Alex Bregman.
It's news that Astros fans have been waiting for almost since he was the number two overall draft pick by the team in 2015.

Bregman, a star shortstop at LSU, made a rapid rise through the Astros system after signing shortly after the draft.
He played at two levels of Class A ball last season and had stops at Corpus Christi (AA) and Fresno (AAA) this season.
He played his last 18 games with Fresno, batting .333 with six home runs, 15 runs batted in and 17 runs scored.
He hit another 14 home runs while with Corpus Christi, for 20 overall this season.
