Thunder Acquire Ronnie Brewer from Knicks
In a starting turn of events, the Thunder have acquired shooting guard Ronnie Brewer from the Knicks just before the deadline. New York, in return, is receiving a future second round pick. Nothing was rumored about this beforehand, but it would appear that this was a deal with the intent of playing Brewer immediately. The Thunder's bench unit has suffered from a lack of depth at shooting guard, and the minutes of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have increased as a result. Ronnie Brewer is a shooting guard in his seventh year out of Arkansas. He's played for the Jazz, Grizzlies, Bulls, and Knicks. He's mostly known as a middling scorer, but has a much higher shooting percentage than most shooting guards up until last year. He's not known for any other area particularly, but he can capably rebound and pass the ball for his position. His defense is another of his strong suits, having been on defense-heavy teams in Sloan's Jazz and Thibodeau's Bulls.
