Texans Fullback Vonta Leach has made it clear for months he wants to remain in Houston and now the Texans are backing up their talk as well.
"We heard from the Texans this morning," Leach's Agent Ralph Vitolo told KPRC-TV in Houston Tuesday afternoon. "We spoke about Vonta and exchanged information and numbers that we'll look at and move forward this week in the process for Vonta. We'll wait and see. Keep calling me!"
Leach, who made the Pro Bowl last season and is considered the best fullback in the NFL, will demand a contract that shows it. He wants to remain a Texan but will take the best available deal in what has now become a short window of free agency now that the lockout has ended.
The Texans have started the process with undrafted Rookie free agents and agreed to terms Tuesday with a group that includes LSU Wide Receiver Terrence Toliver who played at Hempstead High School.
NFL teams can sign Free Agents beginning at 5pm on Friday. The Texans report to camp on Sunday and workouts begin on Monday.
