S: Jason Bergmann (1)

The Sugar Land Skeeters are 1-0 after a 3-0 win. The club came out swinging in the first inning and never looked back. Adam Godwin walked and scored in the first on a Steve Moss single. That was all the support that starting pitcher Matt Wright needed tonight. Wright did not allow a base runner until the fifth, and even when he did,, Adam Godwin made the catch of the game in center field to keep the Skeeters in front, 1-0.
In the sixth inning, Moss got everything going again with a leadoff home run. Then, two batters later, catcher Koby Clemens decided he would not be left out of the home run club and hit a homer to left-center field, almost exactly where Moss deposited his ball.
The Ducks had just two base runners after the fifth inning and Jason Bergmann was brought in to close down the ninth. Although he did allow one single, it was only an infield single and there was no harm done. After losing Opening Day in their inaugural season, the Skeeters start 2013 with an Opening Day win.
