HOUSTON -

The College baseball season is off and running for the Rice Owls and they are off to a great start.

Sunday, in front of over 4 thousand fans, the Owls shutout Stanford 3-0 to win the series at Reckling Park.

Pitcher Jon Simms went 7.1 innings and struck out 3 carrying a no-hitter into the 8th inning.

Shane Hoelsher had 4 hits and 2 RBI for the Owls.
