The Dallas Stars could be without one of their top talents on Tuesday when they host the Nashville Predators. Center Jamie Benn sustained a wrist injury during Saturday's 2-1 loss to Pacific Division rival Phoenix and missed Monday's practice as a result. Benn insisted that he suffered the injury earlier in the contest, as opposed to when he was leveled by a brutal hit from Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal.
While Dallas fell for only the second time in five contests, Nashville suffered its eighth setback in 11 outings (3-6-2) with a 2-1 shootout loss to Minnesota on Saturday. The Predators emerged victorious in their lone meeting versus Dallas, posting a 5-4 overtime win on Feb. 25. Defenseman Roman Josi scored his second goal of the game 28 seconds into the extra session as Nashville rallied from an early two-goal deficit to secure the victory.

ABOUT THE PREDATORS (10-9-6): The road has not been kind to coach Barry Trotz's club. With only four wins in 13 contests (4-7-2) away from Music City, Nashville will visit the Lone Star State to begin its five-game, eight-day road trip. Pekka Rinne struggled in his last outing versus Dallas, stopping 20-of-24 shots. The Finn has been playing better, turning aside all 24 shots he faced for his NHL-leading fourth shutout against Edmonton on Friday before making 28 saves in the hard-luck loss to Minnesota.
ABOUT THE STARS (12-10-2): In addition to the potential absence of Benn, captain Brenden Morrow could be a game-time decision Tuesday. Morrow was a late scratch Saturday because of a groin injury sustained in Thursday's victory over Los Angeles. Coach Glen Gulutzan revealed Monday that veteran Ray Whitney could return to action against Nashville. Whitney was placed on injured reserve with an ailing foot.
1. While Nashville will be getting used to life on the road, Dallas will become very accustomed to playing at American Airlines Center. The Stars will begin a stretch of playing nine of 11 contests at home.
2. Grizzled veteran Jaromir Jagr, who netted Dallas' lone goal Saturday, has collected five tallies in his last four contests.
3. Stars G Kari Lehtonen missed the teams' previous meeting with a groin injury.
PREDICTION: Predators 2, Stars 0
