Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown has been suspended one game without pay and fined $25,000 on Monday for bumping an official and not leaving the court in a timely manner.

Brown will miss Monday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Assistant John Kuester will serve as the team's coach.

Brown was steamed after forward Pau Gasol was stripped of the ball during Saturday's game against the Utah Jazz. The coach was later whistled for a technical foul for arguing the no-call before bumping into official Zach Zarba.

"I wish I wouldn't have put my team in a hole or predicament like that," Brown told ESPN Los Angeles. "I did. I apologized to them. Now I need to make sure that I don't do it again in the future. ...It's not good to do that, not setting the right example or proper tone for your team."
