HOUSTON -

Patience is the key to any deal and the Dynamo have made it clear to Montreal they would not give up young talent just to reclaim Brian Ching.

Discussions had been ongoing and recently had died down but an MLS source confirms that the Dynamo and Montreal are again talking about a move that would mark the return of Brian Ching to Houston.

Dynamo President Chris Canetti told KPRC Local 2, " Talks have opened regarding the possibility of a trade with Montreal."

"We are speaking with Montreal and with Brian's agent to see if a deal can even be worked out. It's a step forward and it's happened within the past 24 hours," Canetti added.

Ching , who was left unprotected by the Dynamo in the expansion draft was selected by Montreal in a surprising move that devasted Ching.

He reported to Montreal training camp on time but has not been happy.

Ching's return is contingent on renegotiating his contract where he is due to make 450,000 .  That salary would not fit into the Dynamo's line of thinking.

Dynamo President Chris Canetti has not been available for comment Monday afternoon.
