Dallas Cowboys punter Mat McBriar underwent successful surgery to remove an intraneural cyst from his left leg.

The Pro Bowler had the surgery performed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., according to the Dallas Morning News.

"The intraneural cyst was causing Mat's foot drop. The surgery to remove the cyst was targeted, based on the most current understanding of the condition and its formation," Mayo Clinic neurosurgeon Robert Spinner told the Dallas Morning News.

“Mat's surgery went extremely well, and I believe he will be as good a punter as ever."

McBriar is a two-time Pro Bowl selection, including the 2010 campaign when he led the league in gross (47.9 yards) and net average (41.7).
