Bruins' Thomas silent on latest Facebook post
Goalie writes, 'I Stand with the Catholics'
The reigning Vezina Trophy winner posted a brief statement expressing support of the Catholic church, writing that "I Stand with the Catholics in the fight for Religious Freedom."
When asked by reporters of the message's intent, Thomas answered the repeated questions with the same answer.
"I say, that's my personal life and it has absolutely nothing to do with the Bruins or hockey, and I'm going to use my right to remain silent."
Thomas caused a stir last month when he elected not to visit the White House as President Barack Obama saluted the reigning Stanley Cup champions.
"The Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People," Thomas posted at the time. He then refused to elaborate for boycotting the visit, other than saying that he "followed his conscience."
