HOUSTON -- Houston might have another to chance to land the Super Bowl in 2010, Local 2 reported Thursday.
New York City originally won the bid in March on the condition that a new Jets' stadium would be built.
However, the National Football League is now reviewing whether the Super Bowl should be moved elsewhere after state leaders in June refused to approve $300 million for the more than $2 billion stadium.
Houston Texans owner Bob McNair told Local 2 he has high hopes of bringing the Super Bowl back to Houston.
"It's a gigantic financial boost for the city and, of course, the attention that it brings to Houston is just awesome. That's the real importance of it," McNair said.
The Super Bowl committee has not said when it will make a final decision on the location of the 2010 Super Bowl.
