Houston -- The Michael Bourn experiment is working out afterall. Wednesday, the Astros Center Fielder earned his first Gold Glove Award.
"Really I am not suprised at all," Astros GM Ed Wade told KPRC Local 2 Sports Wednesday. " It's much deserved. He has a great deal of athleticism, instincts and has worked hard."
Night after night Bourn proved to be a big time player both at the plate in the top of the Astros order or with his glove roaming the vast outfield at Minute Maid Park, The 26 year old is the first Astros outfielder to win a Gold Glove since Cesar Cedeno won 5 in a row from 1972-1976.
"He can make Center Field look small," Wade told KPRC Local 2 Sports. " You can really appreciate what he has done out there. He has a great future and this Gold Glove should be the first of many for Michael."
