Astros, Texans, Sporting Events Changed
- The Houston Astros versus the Chicago Cubs' Friday and Saturday games have been canceled.
Note: Fans with tickets to the Friday and/or Saturday night games should retain those tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled game dates once those dates are determined.
- Houston Texans move their home opener against the Baltimore Ravels to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Reliant Stadium. The game was originally scheduled for 3:15 p.m. Sunday. Air Force-UH moved from Houston to Dallas, at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Robertson Stadium. Arkansas and No. 8 Texas postponed until Sept. 27. Washington State-Baylor moved from Saturday to Friday at 7:30 p.m. -Stanford-TCU kickoff Saturday moved from 6 p.m. to noon. Sam Houston State-Prairie View A&M set for Saturday canceled. Texas A&M-Kingsville-Central Oklahoma moved to 2 p.m. Saturday in Edmond, Okla. -Mary Hardin-Baylor-Southern Nazarene moved to Friday night at 6 p.m. Abilene Christian-Texas A&M-Commerce has been changed to 2 p.m. Saturday. Hardin-Simmons-Linfield moved from 6 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
- The WNBA game in Houston on Friday between the Comets and Sacramento Monarchs was postponed. It will most likely be rescheduled for Monday, depending on the severity of the storm. The Texas A&M Invitational cross country meet is be postponed until Sept. 19. The West Texas A&M men's soccer game at St. Mary's University, scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed. The Texas MedClinic Regional Crossover women's volleyball tournament now to be played on Thursday and Friday at St. Mary's and Incarnate Word University. The Abilene Christian-St. Mary's women's soccer game canceled. Stephen F. Austin University, Texas Southern University and Houston Baptist University canceled or postponed all weekend athletic activities. Hardin-Simmons soccer teams have canceled all games slated for the weekend.
