HOUSTON -- A
Houston Texans football player was arrested during a traffic stop in Fort Bend County and drugs were found in his vehicle, officials told KPRC Local 2 Thursday.
Jameel Cook was pulled over for a routine traffic stop at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 14700 block of Voss Road.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department said Cook was stopped for not showing a front license plate or displaying a Texas registration on the front windshield of his vehicle.
He had a Florida driver's license, which expired in May 2008 and did not have a Texas driver's license or insurance, officers said.
Investigators said they also found 2 grams of marijuana.
Cook was charged with possession of marijuana and released on a $500 bond.
The fullback was signed by the Texans on March 11, 2006. Prior to that, he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
