RAVENNA, Ohio -- Oscar Gavin Andrews has been handed over to the man presumed to be his father, Jon Andrews.
Jon walked out of Robinson Memorial Hospital at about 10:40 a.m. with his son in his arms. That touching moment came after Andrews submitted blood samples so that his DNA could be matched with the baby's.
Oscar's mother, Theresa Andrews, was reported missing last Wednesday after she told her husband that she was going to show their Jeep, which was for sale, to a woman who had called her.
On Tuesday evening, police got records of phone calls made to the Andrews home and were led to Thomas and Michelle Zonko Bica's home, which was four blocks away.
As police zeroed in on Michelle as a suspect, she committed suicide. Police later found Theresa in a shallow grave in the Bica's garage and the baby in the Bica's home.
Jon still does not have custody, but a juvenile court magistrate in Portage County granted him temporary custody.
The baby will not be going to the Andrewses' Ravenna home because of an ongoing investigation. Instead, he will go to an unspecified location.
David Andrews, Jon's brother, and others helped move the baby's nursery from the home Wednesday night. David said that he is disappointed that Oscar will not be going home, but he understands that an investigation is under way.
