The promotion will be offered during business hours at BARC's 3200 Carr Street facility in northeast Houston. BARC is open to the public from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday through Sunday.

BARC takes in more dogs and cats during the spring and summer months than any other time of the year. Right now, BARC has more pets than its shelter can hold. BARC took in more than 350 animals over Memorial Day weekend. Officials expect the number to increase over the next few months.

"Our hope is that this weekend's event results in numerous adoptions, allowing BARC's dogs and cats to find their forever home. BARC currently has hundreds of available pets, so there is a dog or cat for every kind of individual or family," said BARC Marketing & Outreach Manager, Carlene Lormand.

Bed & Biscuits Pet Spa is helping make the free adoption event possible.
