Roseann Rogers
It's been Roseann Rogers' job to know what's going on around town. She's covered everything from local entertainment to Hollywood headlines, keeping Houstonians up-to-date on all the latest gossip and trends.Now, Roseann is tackling a different role at Local 2. Her job includes sales, marketing community involvement, and on-air spokeswoman responsibilities. She's still on TV, just not in the newscasts. Look for her "What's The Buzz?" half-hour and hour specials on Local 2.Raised around the world, including Germany, Kentucky and South Carolina, Roseann developed a personality that makes her everybody's friend. That trait, along with her genuine nature, makes her a first-rate entertainment and features reporter.
Her enthusiastic demeanor came from practice as a cheerleader at her alma mater, Western Kentucky University, where she was also a DJ for the campus radio station. Her gift for gab led her to the Emmy Award-winning "Louisville Tonight Live," where she helped develop and launch the only live local entertainment show in the nation.Known throughout Houston as "The Buzz Lady," Roseann has also taken her show on the road. She has contributed to several special series, including reporting from the sets of "ER," "Law and Order," and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." She has also reported live from the Academy of Country Music Awards and covered the NBA Playoffs and National Championship Game and baseball's National League Division Series Playoffs in Atlanta and the Super Bowl in Houston for Local 2.She has interviewed a wide variety of celebrities, including Antonio Banderas, Joaquin Phoenix, Holly Hunter, John Travolta and Jessica Simpson, as well as country crooners Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Shania Twain. She was also the brainchild behind "2 At Home," a show for Martha Stewart wannabes concentrating on decorating ideas, recipes and gift ideas. Check it out on www.click2houston.com.Roseann also continues to share her talents on Local 2's "Gimme The Mike Houston," the station's locally produced American Idol-inspired talent show.Roseann believes in giving back to the community that has provided her a wealth of opportunities. She is a member of the Junior League of Houston, where she handles media relations for their award-winning cookbook, "Stop and Smell the Rosemary." She's also an active member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority Alumni Organization and volunteers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, for which she received an award. She also received a Cancer Counseling Award for Media Excellence.As a founding board member of Dress for Success Houston, Roseann helps the organization provide interview-appropriate clothing for low-income women seeking employment.In her spare time, Roseann enjoys traveling, reading, scrapbooking, Rollerblading, going to the movies, and, of course, spending time with her husband Aashish Shah.
