HCTRA Director Peter Key talks about why they're needed, and what drivers will receive for the extra money they pay.

U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison is stepping away from political life. She decided two years ago not to seek re-election to the Senate seat she has held since 1993. Office and talked about what she's accomplished, what it means to step away from public life, and her plans for life after politics.

Dr. Mae Jemison was the first African American woman in space. She continues to blaze trails this week as she hosts the 100 Year Starship Public Symposium in downtown Houston. The goal of the project is to ensure that human interstellar flight will exist as soon as possible or at least within the next 100 years.  Dr. Jemison's enthusiasm is infectious as she talks about why we need to lay the groundwork now so that humans can travel beyond this solar system.

Next week is Texas Obesity Awareness Week.  If we continue on this pace, 20 million or 75 percent or Texas adults will be overweight or obese by the year 2040.  Go to www.dshs.state.tx.us/obesity/NPAOPdata.shtm to get more information about Texas Obesity problems and how you can get on the road to a healthy life.

Make sure you tune in for Houston Newsmakers with Khambrel Marshall Sunday at 10 a.m., right after Meet the Press with David Gregory.
