HOUSTON – A child was hospitalized after she was hit by a car in north Houston.

Police said a driver hit the girl around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the intersection of Rushcreek Drive and Northborough.
Investigators said the driver sped away after the crash, but was arrested a short time later.
There is no word on the child's condition.
