Wreck closes part of freeway for 3 hours

HOUSTON - It was a busy Monday morning. At 3:30 a.m., a heavy truck accident occurred on the 610 South Loop westbound at Almeda.

Multiple lanes were blocked for over three hours. Traffic was backed up to past the Gulf Freeway for most of rush hour. This caused delays for nearby alternate routes as well.

Hazmat was on scene. Sand trucks were eventually called to absorb a fuel spill.

No word on any injuries.
