HOUSTON - A group of Houston workers are fighting for justice against companies accused of noting paying their employees.

The group is asking the Houston City Council to pass an ordinance that denies permits, licenses and contracts for companies with recorded wage violations.

According to a recent report, more than 753 million dollars in wages are illegally with held from low-wage workers in the Houston area each year.

Houston would be the first city in Texas and only the 2nd major city in the U.S. southern states to pass an ordinance addressing wage theft.
