HOUSTON – One person died Monday in an accident at the Port of Houston.
Officials said at 8 a.m., a truck was being loaded with steel beams when one of them slipped off the truck at Dock 17, crushing the worker.
The victim, Manuel Funez, was the truck's driver.
The Port of Houston said the worker was employed by Lone Star Staffing.
The accident is under investigation.
