Woman's body found in home

HOUSTONHouston police are investigating after a woman's body was found in her southeast Houston home.

Officers were called to Clover Street near Edgar at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday night, where they say they found the woman's body just inside the front entrance to her home.

A man believed to be her son was taken by homicide investigators to police headquarters downtown for questioning. At this point, he is not charged, and has not been arrested, but is considered an important witness.

Local 2 was told that what's most baffling for police is that there were no signs of violent trauma to the body.

An autopsy on the woman's body is expected to be conducted by the Medical Examiner's Office.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
