SUGAR LAND, Texas – FBI agents suspect three bank robberies in the past week are connected to the same man and woman.
The latest bank robbery happened Monday morning at a Compass Bank on Eldridge Parkway near Briar Forest, police say.
A woman walked in and handed the teller a note saying she had a gun and wanted cash, according to investigators.
Sugar Land police believe that woman also robbed a Chase Bank on Sweetwater Boulevard on Thursday, according to reports.
Surveillance video from that robbery shows the woman in a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses very calmly hand the teller a note as she waits for the money. The woman does not say a word.
She's believed to be Hispanic, in her late 20s, around 5 foot 1 inch tall and weighing 140 pounds. She has some type of word tattooed on her shoulder.
Sugar Land police got a call from Houston police on Monday, telling them a woman matching that description pulled off another robbery.
"Same method: female passing note demanding money, and she was given money when she left the bank," Sgt. M.J. Levon, of the Sugar Land Police Department, said.
Another Chase bank in the 10800 block of Bellaire was robbed on Friday, police said.
The robbery was committed by a man, but investigators believe all three robberies are linked because the man was seen wearing what is believed to be that same wide-brimmed hat.
Investigators said all three robberies were conducted in the same manner. No gun was shown and no one was hurt. If know you anything about these robberies, call the Houston Police Department, the Sugar Land Police Department or the FBI.
