HOUSTON -

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office are still looking for the shooters who opened fired inside a northwest Harris County apartment complex.

One woman, who investigators are calling an innocent victim, was inside her apartment laying on her sofa when a bullet came through the patio door and hit her in the backside.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Villages of Inwood apartment complex in the 5700 block of West Mount Houston.

"I heard at least 20 to 30, maybe more," said Ronald Clarke, who lives nearby.

Clarke heard the gunshots and dropped to the floor because he didn't know where the bullets were coming from.

"I was running and crawling trying to get to my bathroom," Clarke said.

Deputies at the scene told Local 2 they found at least 15 shell casings in the parking lot. No suspects are in custody. Investigators do believe the shooting is gang-related and may have been a dispute over drugs.

A bag containing crack cocaine, marijuana and bullets was found near the scene, deputies said.

The 32-year-old victim was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.

Deputies are still investigating and questioning people who may have witnessed the crime.
