HOUSTON - A woman was shot after a man demanded money from her, police said.
Houston police said the incident happened outside a gas station along the East Freeway near Normandy about 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
Detectives said a man approached a female employee and he asked her for money. As she tried to drive away, the man aimed a gun at her and opened fire, police said.
One of the bullets skimmed the woman's back, but her injuries were not serious, officials said.
The owner of the gas station declined to comment about the shooting, but surveillance cameras outside the store may have caught images of the incident.
A description of the shooter has not been released.
