Woman seriously hurt after crashing into tree

HOUSTON - Emergency crews rushed to rescue a woman after she slammed her car into a tree early Friday morning.

Officials said it happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday at Highway 6 at Barkers Point in southwest Houston.

Police said the woman was driving along Highway 6 when she lost control of her vehicle and slammed into a tree.

Houston firefighters had to use the jaws of life to cut the woman out of the car.

She was rushed to a Houston hospital in serious condition.
