Woman runs over, kills boyfriend outside southeast Houston laundromat

HOUSTON – A man was run over and killed by his girlfriend in southeast Houston Monday, police said.

According to police, Jerry Wayne Bonner, 33, got into an argument with his girlfriend just after 10 p.m. as she was driving. The woman stopped the car in the parking lot of a laundromat in the 5300 block of Selinsky. Police said Bonner got out of the car and started yelling at the woman, then got back inside with the door open and started to hit her.

Investigators said the woman tried pull off to get away but Bonner grabbed her, causing her to lose control of the vehicle, drive the wrong way on Selinsky and hit a grassy median. The vehicle hit a bump and Bonner fell from the car, and the woman accidentally ran him over, police said. 

Bonner died at the scene.

It is unclear if charges will be filed.
