HOUSTON – A woman left her 3-year-old son alone at a METRO bus stop, investigators said.
Latoshiah Perkins, 28, was charged with abandoning a child.
Harris County Precinct 7 deputy constables said Perkins left her 3-year-old son and her purse at a METRO bus station in the 8000 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard while she got on a bus on Aug. 30.
A stranger saw what happened, watched over the frightened child and flagged down a deputy constable.
Perkins was arrested as soon as she returned to the bus stop.
On Facebook, Perkins described herself as a stay-at-home mother.
Perkins pleaded guilty Tuesday and received two years probation with deferred adjudication.
