Woman killed, 2 children injured in southeast Houston crash

Victim's car was speeding, police say

HOUSTON – A woman was killed and two children were injured in a crash in southeast Houston on Wednesday night.

The crash happened about 9:25 p.m. at 13700 Scarsdale Boulevard, near the intersection of Gulf Freeway.

According to Houston police, a black car was speeding on Scarsdale when it hit the back of a gray car. The black car then veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a white pickup.

Police said a 22-year-old woman who was driving the black car was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her passengers, two children, were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately released.

The driver of the pickup was also injured in the crash, police said. The driver of the gray car suffered minor injuries.

The identity of the woman who was killed was not immediately released.
