Woman injured after street racer slams into her car

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Twisted metal and shards of glass are left after a street racer slammed into an innocent driver in northwest Harris County.

Terri Harrington's car was leaving a restaurant after dinner with co-workers Friday night and was hit by a driver street racing on Tomball Parkway near Spring Cypress Road. She pulled out on the feeder road, was struck from behind, and thrown into a utility pole.

Her car was totaled and she is still feeling the physical effects.

"I don't even know what happened. It just came out of nowhere." said Harrington. "Honestly, it makes me angry because it's so stupid. They didn't think about anybody they could've hurt. They're lucky that they themselves weren't hurt or killed." said Harrington.

The car that struck Harrington's Toyota Camry was a Nissan 350Z sports car that was driven by 23-year-old Edward Charles Berry, Jr.  Deputies arrested him at the scene and jailed him for racing on a highway and causing bodily injury.  The driver he was racing was driving a Dodge Ram but drove away from the scene and hasn't been apprehended yet.

Harrington is thankful her 5-year-old son wasn't in the car at the time, but continues to think about the drivers who caused her crash.

Harrington also suffered lacerations and an injured shoulder in the accident.

"I've been going to doctors all week. So, I have whiplash injuries. So now my back is giving me issues." said Harrington.
