A woman who claimed she was kidnapped, carjacked and sexually assaulted is now accused of making up the story.

Norma Morales-Diaz, 52, is charged with filing a false report.

She had told police on April 28, two men abducted her from a gas station at Wayside Drive and Lyons Avenue in northeast Houston. During the ordeal Morales-Diaz said she was bound and blindfolded, and then hours later, her captors took her to a house. She managed to call her daughter and 911.

Police later found Morales-Diaz in her SUV parked at a vacant house in the 7200 block of Hershe Street, nearly 30 hours after claimed she was taken.

According to police, Morales-Diaz admitted to making up the story because she was trying to save her marriage.
