HOUSTON – A woman is in the hospital Wednesday after police said she slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler in southwest Houston.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Interstate 45 Gulf Freeway near the South Loop.
Officials said the woman was speeding when she slammed into the back of the 18-wheeler.
She was taken to an area hospital listed in serious condition, but expected to survive, police said.
The driver of the big rig was not hurt. Investigators are trying to find out if alcohol was involved.
