The woman stopped briefly and then took off, investigators said.

Police said the woman led them south on Cullen, east on Fite and south on F.M. 1128.

The woman pulled into a school parking lot and then went back onto Fite Road, officials said. Shortly after she passed Cullen, the woman ended up on a dirt road and she crashed into a ditch, police said.

When officers got to the woman, she was not wearing a seat belt. Detectives said she was taken to a hospital with facial injuries and a broken leg.

The woman will face a charge of evading arrest. Investigators have not released her name or said why she fled from officers.
