Woman hit while looking for cell phone on Highway 6
Woman taken to hospital by helicopter in critical condition
A woman is in the hospital after deputies said she was hit by an SUV, while searching for her phone in the middle of Highway 6.
The 25-year-old and her husband lost the phone after going to a restaurant on Highway 6 near Clay Road Monday night.
The couple returned to the restaurant but couldn't find it.
That's when investigators said the woman started looking in the parking lot and then out in the street.
She was apparently walking in the middle of Highway 6 looking for the phone when the driver of an SUV hit her.
Investigators said the woman was wearing dark clothing at the time.
She was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
Deputies said the driver was not impaired in any way, and probably won't face charges.
