HOUSTON – A woman was hit and killed as she walked along a dark stretch of northwest Harris County road.
Investigators said the woman was walking along Kuykendahl near Stubner Airline around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, when she was hit by a minivan.

The driver of the minivan told police he didn't see the woman until it was too late.
Officials said the driver was very distraught about the accident, and even performed CPR in a vain attempt to resuscitate the woman.
Investigators said the woman was wearing dark clothes as she walked along the poorly-lit section of road.
No charges have been filed.
