A woman in North Dakota will be handing out more than just Halloween candy Thursday night, according to reports.
She says when kids who appear to be overweight ring her doorbell, she will hand them a letter instead of candy.
The letter will let the parents know that she believes they are "moderately obese" and they may want to rethink their plan for getting them a bag full of excess sugar.
"My hope is that you will step up as a parent to ration their candy this Halloween and not allow your child too continue these unhealthy eating habits," the letter ends.
Dr. Katie Gordan, from North Dakota State University, says the letter may hurt children more than help them, especially at a time in their lives when fitting in is so important.
Dr. Gordon also points out that one's appearance does not necessarily reflect whether or not a person has healthy eating and exercising habits.
