HOUSTON – An elderly woman is dead after her house caught on fire, officials said.
Officials say the home at 1900 Jean St. was heavily engulfed in flames when the Houston Fire Department arrived.

According to HFD, the fire was under control around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The woman was found dead in the back of the home. HPD says there were no signs of other wounds found on the female.
The HFD Arson Bureau is investigating the fire.
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
