Woman facing 2 years confinement for setting family member's home on fire, stealing credit card

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A Harris County woman is facing two years of confinement after authorities said she set fire to a family member's home while that family member was inside.

Angela Cummings pleaded guilty to arson on Feb. 14 for a fire she admitted to setting on Jan. 31, 2015.

“Sheldon Fire Department requested HCFMO investigators to assist on the house fire at 1011 Meads St., Channelview, TX, on Jan. 31, 2015,” said Deputy Chief Dean Hensley. “Cummings confessed to setting fire to a home of a family member and stealing their credit card. At the time of the fire, the family member was in the home and received burns and smoke inhalation.”
