HOUSTON - The FBI is searching for a woman who dressed up like a man when she tried to rob a bank inside a southwest Houston grocery store.
Detectives said the woman walked up to a teller at the Wells Fargo Bank inside the Randalls store on Memorial near Dairy Ashford about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday and handed over a note demanding cash.
The teller didn't hand over any money, so the woman left empty-handed, investigators said. She didn't display a weapon, officials said.
The woman was described as 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 220 to 250 pounds. She was last seen wearing Dickies-type pants, a black shirt, black military-type boots, plastic-framed sunglasses and a Houston Astros baseball cap. She carried a large men's wallet.
The woman left the store in a green SUV.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
